Mr D cheats and traps customers into paying for food being made by a closed restaurant

I placed an order through the MR D app for delivery - and the system auto rejected the order - I called the MR D call centre and the lady asked me that it may possibly be due to my chosen payment method of Cash - which does not make sense as the app should not offer the payment method. I was advised that the order can be placed through the call centre and I will be charged R10 extra and additionaly I will not be able to use my promo voucher for free delivery - increasing my total bill by R45. The alternative, I was advised, is to try and place the order again and use credit card as a payment method.

I tried to place the order again and this time used the credit card as a payment method(Order Numner DFD 176218). The payment went through quite instantly (R315) - And then I started waiting for the order to go through - a whopping 5 minutes later - the order was again rejected. I called the call centre again and I was advised that someone will call me from Mr D . I recieved a call from Xola Mana - Cape Town and she said that the order didnt go through as the restaurant is closed. I obviously asked as to why the app let me place an order to a closed restaurant and more importantly, how have I been charged for an order that will not be made as the restaurant was closed. She arrogantly rep**** that there is nothing that can be done. My next question was that how is it possible that the timings of the restaurant is incorrect on your app and if it is fault of Mr D/ Restuarant - to which I recieved yet another over confident and arrogant reply that it was the fault of the restaurant as they have communicated wrong timings -

All this mess has resulted in so much of time wastage that now all other restaurants are closed and I am unable to place any order for delivery. I asked about the refund to which the response was that she will need to place a request for refund and it will take minimum of 5 working days for this to be processed. WOW! Amazing example of customer service.

Firstly, a customer should not be charged until the order has been accepted by the restaurant and secondly, the refund shoud be a system initiated process where it should be processed instantly if the order has been rejected and a customer should not be required to "log a request" for a refund to be processed!!

Mr D has released an app which has misleading information and trap consumers into paying for food which they are hoping to be prepared by chefs in a closed restaurant. Utter nonsense! And I had high hopes from first time user of the app - didnt know what an absolute useless app it is!
