BEWARE OF THE MOBILE MR DELIVERY FOOD APP - MONEY TAKEN AND NO FOOD TO SHOW FOR IT

I gave the Mr Delivery Food App (mrD App) some time to settle in before I decided this afternoon, 1 April 2017, that I will give it a try in the hope that it will be a pleasant experience which App can be used in future.

Seen in light of the increasing competition in the food delivery service industry and that there are other options to use one would assume that as Mr Delivery has been in this business for many years that it would have what it takes to make the mrD App a success.

Unfortunately my first (and last) experience with the mrD App has been very unsatisfactory and despite being brought under the mistaken impression by the timeline on the mrD App that my order, which was placed this afternoon via the mrD App, was accepted by the restaurant at 4:25pm, that the restaurant is preparing my food at 4:25pm and that the estimated delivery time is 5:10pm I received a telephone call from Melissa of Mr Delivery ( ********** ) at 4:48pm advising me that my order has been cancelled by the restaurant as they did not have one item available which I ordered (and paid for already) and that I will receive my credit card refund of R577.08 only on Monday, 3 April 2017. It should be noted that I ordered and paid for 12 items in total of which only one item was apparently unavailable.

I expressed my utter dismay and dissatisfaction to Melissa with the unsatisfactory manner in which my order was handled and queried why I was not just contacted before the order was cancelled to select an alternative food item and Melissa advised that an order is cancelled by a restaurant when an item is not available. This unproductive and extremely unsatisfactory manner of conducting a business, where the client is now effectively without her money for a few days ****il the finance department, which Melissa advised is only open from Monday, can process the refund) and has no food to show for the money which she paid for, is totally unacceptable.

It would then thus further appear that the mrD App misrepresents the status of a refund which is to be made for this order as the App notified me that "You have been fully refunded" and "we have processed an immediate refund" but Melissa advised that the refund will only take place on Monday, 3 April 2017 when the finance department can attend to such refund. I am yet to receive any notification from my bank that a refund has been processed, as so confidently advised already via the mrD App.

When advising Melissa that there are other companies out there providing the same type of service and that Ubereats will soon also be in Pretoria and does Mr Delivery realise that they are losing business as a result of not being able to perform, she tartly rep**** why did I then order with Mr Delivery. I was gobsmacked and such a response from a Mr Delivery employee is shocking to say the least where this is a cut throat business and one has to stay ahead of the game in order to survive in our struggling economy.

My experience with Mr Delivery has been dismal and after paying for the food I received nothing in return save for frustration and disappointment, with uncer*****y as to if and when I will receive my refund.
