poor customer service
The resort is out of this world but service pathetic weekend of 2015-04-10 to 2015-04-12 we vaster the lodge. 1st when we do our booking we were advice that we need to pay deposit in full don't know is the std according to tourism board and in any way we paid in full two weeks before the visit. Unfortunately one of our couple kids passed on Thursday before vacation mean we will not need another sleeper. When we arrive we tried to reason with management for 50% refund and we were told that is not possible. Then we asked to rather give us voucher to spend inside the lodge un like R3100.00 to go on waist as we were only 5 which one chalet will be sufficient for us , so they called Ampie de Beer who also said no. okay we made peace with it. Saturday evening we were smoking outside the chalet as is one of the rule not to smoke inside the chalet we were verbally threatened by one there security guys who use lot and lot of FFFFFF words to use. Sunday before we left we were advice to pay for utensils' that we didn't even knee if they were available in the chalet. What a terrible holiday and experience we had for weekend. We regret even visiting the place coz each day had it own trauma.
Mount Amanzi is a timeshare resort which means all the units belong to a shareholder. The resort does, upon request from our timeshare members, rent their weeks on their behalf. That is why the company requires a full deposit to secure the reservation. Any cancellation needs to be done within a specific period as we need to release those units that are in the rental pool. The resort was not informed of any cancellation prior to your arrival on Friday late evening and therefore you could not be refunded. The cancellation policy is also on your reservation confirmation letter. You also mention that you were smoking on the patio on Saturday evening which is totally against the resort smoking policy. We do not permit any resident to smoke in or outside our chalets. The resort has created various smoking areas on the premises where guests may smoke. The outsourced security company is appointed to ensure that resort rules are followed and were called out to your chalet on Saturday evening due to noise disturbances and complaints received from other guests in the surrounding area about this as well as you smoking on the patio.
