VW LINDSAY alberton
On the 16th of June 2023,early hours, there was no electricity and when it returned our house caught fire and we lost two rooms completely and unfortunately my car keys (VW Caravelle 2.5 TDi 2007 model)were inside and they were burnt. Fortunately I'm insured by AFFINITY, and I registered a claim and they approved. They said they'll pay R10 000 directly to VW LINDSAY in alberton. At VW LINDSAY I was assisted by Dolf and they cut two sets of keys and they said they can't come to my place to do the coding for those keys(the car was stationary as I didn't have any spare key) and I have to tow my car to VW LINDSAY at my expense, which I did. Couple of days later they told me they have tried every machine they have but they just can't succeed in coding the keys and I must take my car and see where to finish. I'm of a believe that says WHEN ALL FAILS,TAKE IT BACK TO THE MANUFACTURER. Where should I go when the manufacturer says they can't assist???? I spoke to AFFINITY and they towed the car to TRUEWAY PANELBEATES(VW LINDSAY took R10k and only gave me two uncoded keys). At TRUEWAY they stripped my car into pieces. AFFINITY sent their assessor who made a finding that the car has been stationary for a very long time and they are now rejecting my claim based on that. I had to provide TRACKER records to prove the car was in motion or operational just two weeks before the incident. Still they rejected my claim and they said I must tow the car myself back to my place. TRUEWAY gave me a week and they said they'll now start charging for storage. I asked them to reassemble the car to how it was when it arrived and they said I'll have to pay for that as AFFINITY had paid them for ripping it apart. I towed the car,at my expense, back to my place. They took off my passenger seat, both the fenders removed, the grill and the bumper stripped for what I still don't know.
