RE: Lindsay Saker Alberton

When you buy a car from a non-reputable dealership it is advisable to take the car for a checkup by using, e.g. AA. They will help you eliminate potential future headaches! Should we expect that from a reputable dealership like Lindsay Saker?

I bought a used car from Lindsay Saker in Alberton. After taking delivery of the car I took it back there 3 times and on all occassions I kept pointing out that my fan seems to run much longer than normal after I've switched off the car. On all occassions I was told the workshop says its normal. I took delivery of the car on the 16th of January as used car. Since then, I've had to spend R10000 (plus 8 from SA Warranties) on the clutching system (which actually happened less than 2 months after I had taken delivery of the car and now I've had to spend another R5000 (R3500 from SA Warrantees ) for the VERY SAME FAN THAT WAS NORMAL according to the workshop guys at Lindsay Saker! If the big organizations are messing us up and we know Joe's Auto will also **** you, who do we run to?

Is it worth it to take the case to the Ombudsman? I also discovered the car has a lot of bush parts and it was last serviced a year ago by a Mini/BMW dealership!
