poor and dishonest service

I took my brand-new car in for 2 rattles behind the dash, and a knocking sound on the under carriage, and a whine in the engine bay when the engine is hot and under pressure such as traffic conditions. I was told the car would take 7 days as they needed to remove the dash to track the rattle. 4 days in I had not heard from the dealer, and no one was answering phones, so I took a drive there. I was told the one rattle had been sorted out, the other rattle had been caused by the installation of the tracking device. the knocking sound was caused by a loose heat shield, and after extensive riving and testing they could not hear the whine, but the car was done, and I could take it.

as I left the dealership, every single noise and rattle was immediately detectable, as a friend had taken me through and already left, I decided to take the car and drive for a few days to be sure I was not being irrational. by the next day it was clear nothing had been done to the car. So I called the workshop advisor who said he would speak to the mechanics and get back to me. he never bothered to come back, the following day I called back, and was told the mechanics drove the car, jacked it up after and found a loose heat plate, and tightened it. then drove again and never heard the knocking again (which is very clearly still there). the workshop advisor then told me he drove the car in the parking lot of the dealer ship and did not hear the rattle in the centre behind the infotainment unit, hardly testing the car properly. after several questions he admitted they did not even open the dash to try find the rattles and only saw cables that they assumed were for the tracking device heading to where the one rattle was situated. the Whine that he did not hear was because he did not test the car properly in proper circumstances as he originally said he did, because driving in the dealership parking lot was not going to be sufficient. according to the tracking device the car was driven a short distance to test, and not touched again for 6 days. Lies were told to me, they never at any point told me to come fetch the car.
