Oil Consumption

its been two years since I have been complaining about my car oil consumption, firstly I took it to the Glen VW were they apparently did their checks and test and slept at the dealership twice to be checked and they confirmed to me that it is normal for the car to consume such quantity and they did not explained properly what they meant and also their attitude towards me in dealing with matter did not help the issue.

I then moved to Alberton VW to use it as my service point , the problem resurfaced again and I reported and booked it in for checking the same answer was given to me, at least they had decency to explain using the manual which I did understand. I then after service made sure to write kilometres as I bought the oils and they poured the oil and I must come back after 1000km they checked and said everything was ok there is no problem. Then I felt like maybe I am imagining things and maybe I need to relax. on the 05th of July 2017 I took my car for 90000.00km (my kilo then were around 88800.00km I have exact kilos in my service book)as I was going to travelling to Durban and reach my 90000km while on holiday and my maintenance plan will expire.

on the 11th of July just after I got into the freeway my car started giving very bad noise coming from the engine and when I got to Durban I drove for 2 days the sound was still there ,I reported it to the lady who phoned regarding the service experience and she never gave feedback seeing that I was not getting response I phoned VW road assistance who were able to assist I took my car to Umhlanga VW and they checked and confirmed it was wheel bearing and had to booked it IN for service and they confirmed it will not be ready for to take it back to JHB on Saturday. VWSA made arrangement for me to get car that can I move around with in Durban and drive back home with( As Fortune Morake was not in anyway wanted to assist even asking the other dealership to borrow us the car that we can use while in Durban). We left my car in Durban it was fixed sent here in Alberton I fetched it on the 27th July I think by then I drove +-1300km after service, On Sunday the oil light was on the car needed oil. On Monday I went to report the car and I was taken to pillar to post was not given an answer whether it is oil consumption problem or they forgot to fill oil during service I was told to booked in but I asked in who cost to the Service Manager never rep**** to me.

I then escalated the matter to the Dealer Principal the matter and my car was booked in on the 03rd of August 2017, they told me that they have drained all the oil out and I must drive 1000km and bring back the car, I told them that it is impossible at on the 04th August I will be driving to Rustenburg which will be +-500km and maybe 80kms for during the week and 1100kms to Kimberly which will be impossible for me to bring it to them around those kilometres. This was told them last week.

I made a follow-up with them again on Tuesday and they promised to phone me back but they didn't and this morning the told me they will not be able to assist me in anyway and if I drive over agreed kilometres will not also be able to assist with the test.

I already missed my cousin wedding to my car not being here, and I cannot be inconvenienced by problem that I have been reporting since 45000km and no one was interested. I incurred expenses with Avis which I paid from my pocket which I paid for and not sure why? and Fortune Morake asked me to email it to him to enquire what was it for till today no feedback was received from him.

Tomorrow I am travelling to Northern Cape for my cousin sister tombstone unveiling again VW expect me not to attend so I don't exceed my kilometres of 1000km.

I am a very frustrated VW driver

Katlego Setlhalogile
