Mastercars are a lie

I recently purchased a Mastercar from Audi Centre Sandton and have since then been faced with several major problems.

The problems I am faced with are that the car does not have a full service history, despite being told several times by Audi Centre Sandton that it does.

The only service ever recorded in the book is the one at 30 000 km. This will undoubtedly be a problem for me when I try to resell the car.

I need to understand how Audi Centre Sandton plan on resolving this ethically, as they cannot simply stamp each past interval without sufficient proof that the service had actually been carried out.

I feel that this is also false advertising, as Mastercars by default are supposed to be inspected and their service history verified.

Another I am faced with is that the car is supposed to have undergone an 80 point check for faults and any faults should have been resolved or at least highlighted by Audi Sandton prior to the sale.

Here the battery had to be replaced 2 days after the purchase at VW Fourways as Audi Sandton’s workshop could not find the fault, which was that the battery was old and leaking acid, causing the car to completely die unexpectedly.

The air-conditioning has now also stopped working and I feel that whatever the fault may be, it should have been detected during this supposed quality check or repaired when I reported the problem.

I purchased the car from Audi Sandton because I was under the impression that they are a reputable dealership, but at the moment I might as well have bought it from a sidewalk dealership.

As they have not come back to me in over 2 weeks with any plan of action I have no choice but to lodge a complaint with the consumer protection ombudsman.
