Lindsay Saker Vw Fourways

Took my car in for a service and I asked my service consultant to please check on my rear brakes as they were making a noise when braking, also asked them to check why car over heats in traffic. The consultants calls me after checking what is wrong with my car and he advised me that i need to change my brake shoes and drums as they where worn and needed to be replaced, charging me R6100. The issue with overheating was due to my thermostat and wiring that needed to be replaced, charging me R7200. I told my consultant to put everything back together as i will sort that out myself. I proceeded to buy the shoes and drums to replace them and when taking my car to a workshop for fit them on, they person that took the parts off asked me why am i changing this when there is nothing wrong with them. The shoes and drums where in 100% working order and did not need to be changed. The guy at the workshop serviced my shoes and brakes by removing all the dirt and dust and after that my brakes are perfect without any noises from. I was being charged R6100 from VW for something that wasnt even looked at. With the thermostat I took it to someone to sort out and they told me that it was my temperature switch that needed to changed, which costed me R388, whereas Vw was charging me R7200 for something that was not even faulty. So please guys make sure you are not getting ********** by Vw Fourways as they after not checking the problems with the cars but just quoting you for something that they think might be the problem. This is very disappointing from such a big brand. I would never refer anyone to this place and i would never take my car back there.
