Gearbox breakdown

My car was towed in to the dealer for the gearbox problem and my car is still under warranty and their respond to me was that the course of the problem is external influence then therefore they wont cover the repairs. I have ask them that a vehicle that is covered everywhere inside how possible is the spillage can go through to the gearbox, they could not answer me as they saying they can not speculate exactly the course.
