Extremely disgusting service by VW Midrand
I bought a second hand VW Kombi T5 at VW midrand, the car has major defaults which were not explained to me at the point of sale. Initially i was given courtsey car which drove for two weeks to three weeks and i was told my car was taken a service.
When i signed for the car, it had clocked 89k+ but when i collected the car, it had clocked 94k+ and i complained to the sales person they said they cant help me because my sales person was on leave. Upon taking delivery of the car,i realised it was not serviced and i realised faults on the car, including a malfunction of central locking system of the car which meant you have to manualy lock the car each time. The sound system was damaged, the wheels were not alighned and the car would always dangerously swerve to the left. I found broken glasses in the car asked if the car was involved in a accident, i was told no. The driver door and passengers door(which does not have and internal manual lock because it is broken) have difficulty locking and opening which is the same side i found the glasses.
I wrote a list of all the defects on the car and took the car back to the dealership and asked them to either fix the car or we cancel the deal. They agreed to fix the car. 5 days later i called to check what is their position i was told the car is ready only to find out that the only thing that was fixed on the car was the sound system. The car was never taken for a service. The same defaults were still visible in terms of misalignment of the wheels, the car still swerved to the left and only the front wheels were replaced because they were badly damaged, the door locks were not fixed.
I drove the car with an expired licence disc unaware and when i enquired i was told its because my disk wont be released because i have outstanding fines. Only to find out that the car was actually not taken for a roadworthy test hence the car disc wont be released.
Today i took the car to the dealer and one Gerri Van der merve told me the car is yours and they can only attend to the defects on the car which they failed to attend to initially when i took back the car. He patronised me by telling me he was willing to take back the first time i brought in. This never reached my ears. I was never told about this and even the sales person did not know about this. I told him i only took the car back because i was losing money and business. They were silent for more than 5 days until i called them.
I explained that im no longer interested given the poor service and lies i was fed by dealership. I lost business, my time, my airtime and my petrol trying to get the dealer to get this right. Im out patiance.
Essentially im stuck with a R650k debt on a faulty car. Go to VW Midrand at your peril.
