Broken Promise

I recently bought my TSI at VW Lindsay Saker Fourways, and on the list of my requirements i specifically asked for an arm rest that was promised, and then my dealer sent me an offer to purchase that didn't include the arm rest, seeing that, I asked my dealer if it was standard or if there was some kind of error, he then told me that he will "RECTIFY" this at no additional cost, I get to the dealership to collect my car and there is no armrest and still i am assured that they have ordered the parts and my dealer will call me as soon as they are available and it wont be long. a week passes by, I follow up and i am told that the stock is on hold and as soon as my dealer knows he will inform him, this didn't sit with me well but i just decided to trust him and let him do his job. i followed up again after three weeks just to get an estimate on the time I needed to wait on and still no answer, I then waited another week where my colleague intervened and that's when my dealer responded, claiming to have to called me and telling me that the arm rest of this polo has run-out and there is nothing they can do since i didn't pay for it.

I am not disputing the fact that i didn't pay for it but what i am really angry at is the fact that my need was not met, the very need that i could've have paid for had I been told upfront that the vehicle I am sold doesn't come with anymore.

and the fact that i have to follow up to be told that i am no longer going to be given what i was promised, i didn't ask for it for free! i just feel like my consumer right has been stripped of me and i must roll over like nothing happened. this is not how you treat a person who buys something huge as a vehicle, especially when all the extras that i didn't bother to ask for were added and the very one that I specifically asked for is an issue. i feel like my dealer should've been frank with me in the on set and let me buy the vehicle without the hope of getting what I asked for.

This is totally unacceptable
