Extremely Disappointing Claims Experience – FNB Tyre & Rim Cover
I am extremely disappointed with my experience with FNB Tyre & Rim Cover, administered by MotoVantage.
After paying for this cover for over a year, my claim for a tyre that was stabbed while my vehicle was parked at Nando’s Midrand has been rejected on the basis of the “vandalism” exclusion.
I was alerted by a car guard, immediately drove to safety on my run-flat tyres, and reported the incident first thing the following morning.
What is particularly unacceptable is the apparent insinuation that I deliberately damaged my own tyre. The tyres in question are hardly a year old and are still relatively new. I have also owned the vehicle for approximately four years. Why would I deliberately stab my own nearly-new tyre and then submit a claim?
If FNB/MotoVantage considers this vandalism, I expect them to provide a clear and substantiated basis for that conclusion—not simply cite an exclusion clause.
This experience has completely undermined my confidence in the value of the cover I have been paying for with my hard-earned money. Insurance is supposed to provide protection and peace of mind, not leave loyal customers feeling dismissed when they need the very cover they have been paying for.
I will be formally escalating this matter through the appropriate complaints channels. Furthermore, if this decision is not satisfactorily reviewed, I will be cancelling my MotoVantage insurance as well as other covers I currently hold with FNB. I am no longer prepared to support a service that has left me with this level of dissatisfaction and distrust.
FNB/MotoVantage have seriously ruined my experience as a customer, and this is certainly not what I pay my hard-earned money for.
I expect accountability, a proper review of my claim, and a fair resolution.
