Why do institutions exploit customers in hard times like these?

I share my regrets and experience with MFC, on 11 Feb 2025 I spoke to Danny who evidently was in a very bad mood. I just called to enquire about an email from MFC, with a heading "Your Value added product" Description: Motor Happy Debt Protection Monthly impact instalment R642.86 New instalment on 15 Feb 2025:R5926.86

Firstly when she picked up my call, she made confirm all my personal details, including whether I receive statements via email. I told her I've never received any statements from them. Mind you, I have two vehicles financed by MFC. So I told her the reason for my call was to find out why is my instalment being increased. She told me it's bcoz I had not responded to their email to confirm proof of insurance for my Hyundai. I asked her how and when was this information sent to me?. She said it was sent via email on 03 Dec, I assume 2024 bcoz she never clarified that to me. I told her I never received any email from MFC and I'm not interested in this, as I have insurance for my car. She told me it's already imposed and I can't say I'm not interested.

After a long conversation which ended up being an argument, seeing she was adamant I had to ask her, what must I do to cancel this must I write a letter, she asked "do you not have an insurance on your vehicle" I said I do she said well you need to send us proof. I never felt so annoyed by this question bcoz I had been telling the same thing "I don't want this protection because I'm insured. I mean, hho has that kind of money at this time of the year? Having 2 vehicles financed? Really...in such a short notice?.

Even after this call I still went and checked my emails, spam, bin there's never been any correspondence from them.
