Vehicle sale in bad faith

On 5 May 2018 I approached a Jeep dealership in Boksburg to buy a brand new 2018 model Jeep Renegade. The financing was done my Motor Finance Corporation and they were provided with the vehicle details prior to making a decision to approve the financing. The bank failed to pick up that the car has a registration date at eNatis of 20-09-2015 based on the chasis number they were supp**** with.

I believe that this deal was handled poorly and the bank handled it in bad faith. The car has been giving me problems since after the first week I took delivery on 18 May. I took the car for a technical assessment and that is how I discovered that the car shows a Date of Liability for First Registration on eNatis as 20-09-2015. While investigating, I have tried to address this with the dealership but they seem unprepared to resolve the situation to my satisfaction as I am saying that they have delivered to me a car that is not compliant with what I requested and they were not aboveboard about all these details about the car. I want the deal cancelled and for me to be restored to the position I would have been had this misrepresented sale not taken place. I am disappointed in the bank as it is an institution with a fiduciary duty and one that is empowered to do a thorough analysis of products that is agrees to finance. I believe the bank did this because it did not care since its position is that if there is any prejudice suffered from its actions, they will be suffered by me with the weakest position in this tripartite deal.

If my issue is not addressed to my satisfaction within 3 weeks, I will log a complaint with the FAIS ombudsman as that I believe is more than enough time for the bank to address this.

The response I received from you is not satisfactory. How can you absolve yourselves of the responsibility to check the vehicle that is being submitted with the finance application as you and not me are the first people to be provided this information and the information I subsequently found you could have discovered and disputed prior to making your offer. Your response says that you are okay to go along with a ********** transaction because you do not have jurisdiction over the dealership. Are you saying, I, the person who receives this information last should have done what you failed to do?
