Unfair Restriction of Access to My MFC Profile Despite Ongoing Payments
I have always taken responsibility for managing my MFC account, even after entering debt review. Up until recently, I had full access to my online profile, which allowed me to monitor my balance, view arrears, and download monthly statements. This access was crucial for me to plan and stay on track with my financial obligations.
However, since the launch of the new MFC website in July 2025, I have been unable to log into my profile. Initially, I was told by an agent that the system was offline, which seemed odd as my husband could still access his account without any issues. Today, I phoned again and was informed that because I am under debt review, I no longer have permission to access my profile or view my statements.
This explanation is not only inconsistent with my previous experience but also deeply unfair. I am still making payments towards this account — I am not shirking my responsibilities. I am simply asking for access to information that I am entitled to. Blocking me from viewing my own account details and statements feels like I am being punished for being under debt review, despite actively working to resolve my financial situation.
The agents I’ve spoken to have not been accommodating or empathetic. When I expressed that I don’t understand why I’m being denied access to my own account, I was met with indifference. This lack of transparency and support is unacceptable.
I am requesting that MFC urgently review this policy and restore access to my profile. Customers under debt review should not be excluded from managing their accounts — especially when they are making consistent payments and trying to improve their financial standing.
