Restructure Debits “compound interest”
So I had a vehicle financed with MFC in 2015 with *** and I was charged a 14.55 fixed interest rate. I don’t know what I was smoking to agree to such. Total cost of this vehicle amounted to R297,390.00 plus total interest payable of R153,315.00 thus making Total collectable amount valued at R454,866.60
A year down the line, I found myself in a financial trouble and opted for a debt review in order to secure my assets.
Long story short, MFC then went & charged me a Restructure Amendment Debit -142 as follows (this is now compounded interest charged on a vehicle) on & over the above monthly service fees:
2016/12/01 = R73,155.72 2016/12/05 = R49,445.56 2017/05/25 = R10,772.74 2018/05/17 = R16,448.97 Total = R149,822.99
Why is MFC charging me an additional R149832.99 on & over the agreed upon initial interest of R153,315.60.
This is when I was having financial challenges & MFC goes & does such? Month to date outstanding balance on this account stands at R394,716.67 after 5 years of being in existence with a settlement amount of R261,402.10 Retail value of this vehicle is at R168,000.00
I’m sitting with a shortfall of over R104,000.00..
This vehicle in question was written off by my insurer this month.
