Refusing to assist

I have a car I pay for every month. I have an excellent credit record and have never missed a payment. In the past few months I have increased medical accounts so I asked for a restructure to assist me and reduce my installment for a few months. They refused. I do not qualify for debt management because I can afford to pay but am asking for help for a few months. The website states to call if you have payment problems. I did that and they can't help me. That seems stupid because the bank would rather repossess the car and sell it at a loss rather than gain the interest I would pay them if they just assisted for a few months. Instead of just not paying at least I was honest to come forward and ask for assistance which means nothing
