Not honouring claims

Took a 2yr power-up plan that covered wiper blades and brakes. This was done telephonically and I NEVER received a policy schedule! The plan expired at the end of Jan 2017. I only just found out when I asked for a new plan, that it also covers the replacement of car batteries. Let's see if I get a policy schedule this time around.

My car battery was replaced in May 2016. You would think that I would be able to claim for that because the event happened BEFORE the plan expired. But No! That is not the case. They flatly refuse to honour the claim. I work in the short term insurance industry and have often had claims paid for clients after the fact. MFC was happy to take my money for two years, and happy to do so again BUT NOT WILLING TO PAY CLAIMS!!!! They keep hiding behind the fact that the plan expired BUT will NOT admit to the fact that the incident happened way before that.

The response from MFC / Nedbank is hardly worth the time it took type. I still have not received a policy contract! A sweet lady phoned me but she is just the go-between and cannot make any decisions.
MFC now has a new excuse for not honouring the claim:
Nissan should have tested the battery and then submitted their findings to MFC before replacing it.
No 1: No policy contract.
No 2: No sane person replaces a battery just for the hell of it.
No 3: Batteries fail suddenly; there is no warning.
No 4: Nissan did test the battery because the stop/start functionality of the vehicle was compromised. This is not good enough for MFC.
No 5: I need my vehicle to get to work, etc. There was no time to first check, submit diagnostics, etc. EVEN IF we knew the procedure...which clearly was non-existent.
I recommend that everyone steers clear of these add-on products. You are going to end up paying for absolutely nothing. You may as well burn the money!

I would love to change my rating to less than zero but that option does not exist.
