02 Jun 2026, 13:04I am extremely disappointed with the manner in which Nedbank MFC has handled my complaint regarding a financed vehicle that is currently the subject of an ongoing dispute.
My complaint relates to concerns surrounding the vehicle's accident history, repairs, disclosures made to me, and the overall condition of the vehicle. The matter has also been escalated to MIOSA.
After raising my concerns with MFC, I was initially informed that the matter would be escalated internally, including to the legal department. However, I was later advised that MFC could not intervene because I had serviced the vehicle at a dealership other than the dealership from which I purchased the vehicle.
What is concerning is that MFC has refused to provide proper answers to reasonable questions arising from this position.
I have repeatedly requested that MFC provide:
• The specific clause in my finance agreement that prevents them from intervening.
• Confirmation of whether this is an official MFC policy and, if so, a copy of that policy.
• Clarification on whether servicing a vehicle at another dealership somehow removes a customer's consumer rights or dispute rights.
• An explanation as to why the matter was initially escalated and then rejected.
• Confirmation of whether the decision was made by the legal department and, if so, the reasons for that decision.
• A copy of my finance agreement and applicable terms and conditions.
Instead of answering these questions, I have been redirected between departments and provided with responses that do not address the substance of my concerns.
As a customer, I have continued to meet my obligations under the finance agreement by making my monthly instalment payments. I therefore believe it is reasonable to expect MFC to properly investigate serious concerns relating to a financed asset and provide transparent and accountable responses when requested.
My concern is no longer only the vehicle dispute itself, but also MFC's apparent unwillingness to answer straightforward questions or provide supporting documentation for its position.
I am posting this complaint in the hope that a senior representative from Nedbank MFC will review the matter, provide clear written answers to the questions raised, and ensure that my complaint is handled fairly and transparently
