MFC pushing for Repossession and backing down on agreed payment arrangement.
I fell short on my MFC installments and was called by Mary-Anne Peterson on the 25th of April 2023. Her first interaction was quite rude and abrupt and told me that I am behind and the agent was on his way to pick up the vehicle. I shared my story of why I was behind and that debt review was supposed to keep up with payments for those 3 months but she wouldn't hear a thing. I made a payment of R11 000 that day out of fear of the car being taken away and sent an email with a further payment arrangement. About a week later, I was called by a very rude debt collector who said he was sent by Mary-Anne yet, there had been no prior arrangement or notice and I had made payment. I refused to handover the car, as I had seeked advice of the process of repossession and this hadn't been followed by MFC. I sent a follow-up email to Quentin Mellet requesting to review the arrangement, as I could not meet the original one. Again Mary-Anne called me and we worked out an arrangement, which she said she will attach to my account. This was on the 24th of May. On the 25th I made a payment of R10 000 and on the 1st of June , I paid my monthly installment. On the 31st of May, Mary-Anne Peterson calls to say we should have never negotiated and Nedbank wants the car back. This is after I've stuck to my end of the deal and paid R27900 which is more than half of the arrears and with a payment arrangement in placed. I am now being harassed with calls and whatsapps of threats that they will now be pursuing the legal route. Yet on the 24th of May 2023 an arrangement was made.
