MFC Must help
A bit more than a year ago bought a vehicle in Pine-town , a 2013 Jeep SRT8 ( at the time it had a 110 000km on the clock . I have driven it for roughly 2 months after then a problem occurred with the vehicle. I have so far driven it for a total of +- 5000km , the check engine light came on. I took it for a spark plug change and the problem still persists , after testing we saw there was a bad valve on the second bank.
The vehicle was taken to Motec in Potchefstroom , after testing , the vehicle had a burnt valve because of an injector problem on nr 4 silinder - this was causing the engine check light because the PCM switched off the NR4 silinder because it was running lean. AA ( Lombard ) have paid us out for the faulty injector we claimed for . The work was finished around 16 August - after which the vehicle gave the same problem after driving to Parys from Potchefstroom ( - + 45km ) .
Motec being very busy I took the vehicle to AMTEC in Duncanville in Vereeniging for advanced diagnostics , after three days of diagnostics they phoned me back with the symptoms of a bad cam and cam followers ( lifter) on the MDS system of the 6.4 HEMI . They proceeded to remove the engine to do a proper tear down , as claimed by AA ( Lombard ) for a proper quotation and for the assessors to have a look at .
After that photos were sent to me and AA , where they rep**** to a non cover / declined claim as they do not cover bad workmanship . JJ ( the workshop manager at AMTEC ) and I phoned them and explained to them that the two problems are not the same and the work previously is not mutual to the work needed to be done now.
After this i have phoned the person in charge with claims processing MR Francois , and he informed me there will be no cover at all for the work needed to be done since the damage was caused by the MDS valve not supplying efficient oil to the cam followers and they do not cover oil related issues .
I have proof from the internet stating this a common issue on the ( 2005 - 2012 Wk1 6,1 Hemi ) and on the ( 2013 -2017 wk2 6.4 Hemi ) According to the internet , its a factory problem with the bearings collapsing and leading to cam failure. This is not an oil or an electrical problem and there is no way this can be caused because of normal wear and tear. The vehicle has not yet even reached the 120 000km mark.
Please can you assist ? Please see attached photos , damage report as well as the audio clip between me and lombard / Francois.
At the time when I bought and MFC approved the vehicle loan a lady phoned me and sold me this wonderful warranty saying to me "sit this warranty covers all damages to the vehicle except normal wear and tear" , MFC introduced me to the warranty product from AA ( Lombaard insurance ) . I find it very hard to believe you try to sell this product to clients having to struggle with a claim.
I have paid this vehicle now for a year , but have only had the pleasure of driving it for about 3 or 4 months.
Kind regards
Niell
