MFC does not protect their customer, they finance vehilces without roadworthy and incorrect year model charging you more for a vehicle that cost less
I purchased and took delivery of a vehicle on the 24th of august financed by MFC.
issue number 1: ( motor warrantee) MFC financed a additional R10000 for motor warranty which was "compulsory" which effectively would have been null and void if i had not done extensive research and a lot of complaining. the warrantee company will not pay out a claim if the vehicle does not have full service history or was serviced in the last 30 days, so apparently neither the dealer or MFC new about this. i made MFC aware of this immediately and was told to sort it out with the dealer.
issue number 2 (financing and releasing funds to dealer without roadworthy) The finance was approved on the 23rd and i took delivery on the 24th of August. It was explained to me that the vehicle has had its full Dekra test and that everything is in order, (this is the 5th time I finance a vehicle so i no what to look out for) tyres looked worn but i took it that it passed dekra so i must be overthinking it. weeks of waiting for license disk and registration plates go by an no response from dealer. i call MFC on the 13th to explain to them that the temporary license has expired and i am effectively driving a vehicle that's not suppose to be on the road, they can not assist and advise me to call the relationship consultant who deals with this particular dealer her name ROSHNEE PILLAY. On the 14th i go to the dealer and demand a refund as to many things have gone wrong with this deal, the manager explains to me that he will sort everything out and is shocked that i still have not received the license disk and plates. This is where it gets seriously messed up: When i get home i do a check on enatis and it turns out to my utter disbelieve this vehicle does not have roadworthy and has not been to a roadworthy and luckily i save the official document off enatis. on Monday 17th august i call Roshnee and explain everything to her, she actually shocks me by telling me MFC does not require roadworthy as they work on a trust relationship with the DEALER , no i know a thing or two about cars and it does not make any sense at all, i ask her the question ( so if i was involve in a accident now do you think my insurance would pay out for a vehicle that is not suppose to be on the road ? should the bank finance a vehicle not without knowing on paper that is suitable to drive on the roads and her reply is that MFC does not require Roadworthy ( all my calls are recorded and available at your request) The same day roadworthy gets loaded on to enatis *******ly as the vehicle was in my possession and after long investigation by myself and the dealer we confirm that the has absolutely ZERO evidence that this vehicle was at there premises not even a inspection sheet or anything. So MFC are you putting the people of South Africa's life in danger by financing unroadworthy vehicles ????
issue number 3 how does such a big institution like MFC manage to allow Finance for a vehicle under a 2013 model when clearly it a 2012 ? invoicing clearly states 2013 and then on the same invoice year manufactured 2012, i mean seriously man how? financing a vehicle for more than its worth ?
MFC how did all this slip through the cracks please explain ?
note that i have made 14 calls and not once did i manage to speak to a manager or supervisor after explaining my situation and the seriousness of the matter.
I'm stuck with a debit order for a vehicle that i was not able to use and currently is not in my possession.
thank you MFC I'm sure Fais TCF/Ombuds would love this one.
