MFC collected car, after paying arreas...car has oil leaks

<p>In December I lost my job and have missed out on 2 consecutive payments, I had made arrangements willingly for MFC to collect the vehicle from my home and for them to arrange a sale on my behalf but to first let us know what the sale value would be, alternatively we will make a way to pay the arreas and arrange a private sale and then settle the outstanding in total.</p> <p> </p> <p>All was explained (I thought) when the vehicle was collected by Jaco Viljoen an MFC, third party Field Agent. He said the car will be in MFC's posession for the valuation or until point of sale (not including storage prices) or if I can arrange the arreas payment within 10 working days I can go get the car back.</p> <p> </p> <p>The arrears amount was R8 200 I made a payment for the car to be released of R10 000.</p> <p>Yet I got an email with a breakdown depicting a shortfall of the amount before it can be released.</p> <p>I got 2 very rude emails from Precious Ntho answering questions like, why was I not sent this before I made the payment and why have I not heard back with regards to the evaluation amount. She said the amount was sent via sms, yet after the email asking for more information I was presented with a full valuation report of the vehicle.</p> <p> </p> <p>The Summary of the report included that he vehicle is in a fair condition but engine leaks oil which affects the value negatively. </p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p>When the car left my premises in Randburg to be driven to Kempton Park by Mr Jaco Viljoen there was no issues with regards to the car engine or leaks of any sort. The car has never had any oil leaks while in my possession. You welcome to check my driveway where the car parked for years, you can even check for oil stains leading out the driveway.</p> <p> </p> <p>If I knew my car was damaged in the process I would never have paid the R10 000 for the arreas.</p> <p>I cannot accept the car in this condition as this is not the way I gave it. As much as this sets the value back to you, according your summary. It will aslso set it back for me once in my posession again.</p> <p> </p> <p>Back to the price, I was never told about any "hidden cost"sundry expenses other than the arreas which I would have to settle, as for simple Maths. I owe R8 200 I pay R10 000, all should be okay right? NO </p> <p> </p> <p>This is the breakdown which I then get back, once again correspondance after I query and send proof of payment.</p> <p> </p> <p>Arreas R8 200</p> <p>Reposession Cost R3 034 - why is this seen as a reposession cost as I willingly handed my car over for sale https://www.mfc.co.za/assisted-sales why do you then offer this as a service.</p> <p>Valuation R400</p> <p>Re-registration R800</p> <p>Storage in number of day (12) R600</p> <p> </p> <p>total R13 034 my shortfall R3 034</p> <p>All of these costs were never explained till I made the arrears payment.</p> <p>worst of all the car leaks!!! I took pictures of the car too, before it left here as well as the odomiter and we have a descrepency of 80km between our pics and its not 80km from Randburg to Kempton Park. According to Google Maps, its 44km from my home to the Kempton Park address where the car was delivered too.</p>
