MFC and webuycars colluding together! Reversing payments!? What is going on??

About two weeks ago, webuycars came to inspect and evaluate a car that I was selling. After careful inspection, inside and out, and after a 30 minute test drive, I was then offered less than the original offer that they made me. Even so, after a few days of careful consideration and webuycars phoning me every single day because they want me to accept their ridiculous offer, I decided to go ahead and conclude the deal. Bearing in mind that they offered me R150,000 BELOW market value which clearly shows that their profit margins are huge. As the vehicle was financed by MFC, an offer was sent directly to them to purchase the car from me, and 1-2 days later, MFC had accepted their offer. Over a week after that, a different webuycar's salesman arrived at my premises so that we could conclude the deal. This took over an hour as they did not have their affairs in order. No problem though, these things happen. They paid MFC directly, contracts were signed, the deal was concluded and off they went with big smiles on their faces. Four days later I get a call from the salesman who initially test drove the car informing me that they are not actually happy with the car, and I was told to come pick it up and take it away. Just like that?? While he was telling me this, he informed me that his MANAGER had already reversed the payment from MFC! Excuse me? What did he just tell me? Under whose authority? Nedbank? Since when can a bank just be allowed to reverse a payment/transaction that was agreed upon, signed and concluded four days prior, and without any notice to the client, let alone any permission to do so? I would like to know WHO at MFC agreed to reverse the payment back to webuycars? On what grounds?? Furthermore, I was told to just come fetch my car, like I'm a dog? Yet when webuycars wanted the car, they came right to my doorstep. But now four days later after they have USED the car, they have changed their minds, and I am told to just come fetch it, at my inconvenience!?

When the salesman initially came to view and evaluate the car, a very thorough inspection was done inside and out. Photos were also taken inside and out. Furthermore, I waited for 30 minutes on the road side while the car was taken for a "good" test drive. All was in order! After a careful inspection and test drive, I was given a revised final offer, less than the original offer that was made. This is part of webuycars buying tactics. They make you a decent offer online with the intention of "low-balling" you once they actually come to view, inspect and test drive the car. No problem though as I expected this is how they do business. I have been transparent with webuycars from the very beginning and I had informed them that the previous owner had changed the bonnet on the car and had some paintwork done, to which the salesman noted on his evaluation report along with taking photos of this. After the inspection and test drive, I was asked to please confirm with BMW that the motorplan was active and that all is in order. I had received confirmation from BMW of such and forwarded it directly to webuycars prior to MFC accepting their offer. The car is in an excellent overall condition and I have proudly maintained it since I bought it. From when the webuycars salesman came to test drive and evaluate the car to the time that we actually concluded the deal, I never drove the car out of my yard, as this is the right and ethical thing to do.

So again, I'm going to point out. The vehicle was carefully inspected and test driven by webuycars. They offered me less than their original offer, which both myself and MFC accepted. This was R150,000 LESS than the current market value of the car. They came to my premises, contracts were signed, MFC was paid directly, further confirmation was given that all had been concluded, and off webuycars went with their new car. Four days later, I received a rude and surprising phone call from webuycars, because after further inspection, they found other "defects" which I had NO IDEA about. The car drove perfectly from the day I bought it. It didn't give me a single issue whatsoever. So what is this nonsense and unprofessionalism that I am now receiving from webuycars? I'm very shocked as this is NO WAY to do business at all. They made me an offer based on an evaluation, inspection and test drive that was carried out by their own assessor. I never forced them to buy this car from me. We agreed on a price, the contract was signed, MFC was paid, and that concluded the deal.

It is clear that webuycars do not treat their customers fairly or with any respect whatsoever. They only care about how much money they can make off the customer! They didn't think twice about low-balling me and taking the car away for a "luck". But now they are having second thoughts? Let me add, this is what INCOMPETENCY looks like. And you would never expect this from a dealership of their magnitude. They claim to buy in excess of 8,000 cars every month. They have 200 buyers/assessors and 20 years of buying/selling experience. So please explain to me how I am now responsible for the incompetency of their so-called "experienced" assessors and buyers? It is clear that they assess at least 8,000 cars every month, so how is it once the deal has been signed, paid and concluded, that now they want to reverse the deal and have me come pick up the car? The vehicle was test driven for 30 minutes. A careful evaluation and inspection was carried out. Photos were also taken. And now? They have the authority to underhand the client, go behind their back and then have the payment/transaction reversed?? Without any notice whatsoever? Under whose authority? Actually, what is going on here?? This sounds to me like webuycars and mfc are colluding together to make huge profits while not caring for the integrity and legal rights of their clients. This behavior sounds very suspicious and ********* to me. And to top it off, I must now be inconvenienced and burdened with their mistake because a dealership of webuycars magnitude are ***********, inefficient and very unprofessional, let alone very rude on the phone.

After receiving this very unsettling call from webuycars, I immediately "tried" to get hold of MFC, specifically the person handling the account. I proceeded to phone Annelise Haase NINETEEN times between 11am to 3pm, but the phone just kept on ringing and going to voicemail. I also emailed her with URGENT attention but have not received any response yet. I also proceeded to call her manager Corne Boschoff, but his line didn't ring at all, and just went straight to voicemail. I also emailed him, but for some reason, the email returned and was undelivered. I then proceeded to call Adell (MFC National Manager), but the number didn't ring as it was now invalid. I also sent her an URGENT email, but I am still waiting for a response.

I am not concerned about the blatant bullying and unprofessionalism from webuycars. This is expected from a dealership that has substandard and highly questionable business ethics. The car was carefully inspected inside and out, photos were taken, the car was test driven for 30 minutes, they "low-balled" me on the original offer, the revised offer was accepted, contracts were signed, the deal was concluded and the vehicle was taken away. There is nothing to dispute here regarding the purchase and sale of the vehicle. However, a HUGE concern of mine is that webuycars have the audacity to tell me that the payment to mfc was REVERSED, and that I must come pick up my car. When webuycars came to "rip me off", they were very polite and accommodating. But now that things supposedly didn't work out their way, they feel that they have the right to treat me like a dog? Not on my watch! Furthermore, nothing was ever discussed with me or brought to my attention prior to them telling me that they have had the payment reversed. Again, under whose authority was this decision made??

Do banks have the right to reverse transactions and payments without the clients consent and approval, especially days after the transaction has been agreed, signed and concluded? How is ********* and ************ behavior like this even allowed? Especially amongst financial and banking institutions? What is the legality and justification for this? I want answers!!

Let me add that I am not intimidated by the likes of webuycars and nedbank/mfc. And I am NOT taking this matter lightly!
