MFC and Auto Team Eastrand really poor service.

We purchased a Toyota Fortuner from Autoteam Eastrand in December last year. we made collection around the second week of December. Within having the car for a few weeks the alarm started to go off sporadically. When my husband looked into it and did a bit of his own research he discovered that this model had been recalled due to alarm issues.

My husband made contact with the dealership where we have dealt primarily with our salesperson Vernon. Vernon then requested that my husband return the car and they would have the issue looked into by Toyota which we appreciated.

The car was sent in and then returned. On receipt, we still experienced erratic behavior from the device.

We then again advised Vernon that the issue had not been rectified as the problem was still there. My husband also advised Vernon of a leak in the ceiling of the car. we agreed between ourselves that the main concern was definitely the alarm. My husband then returned the car to Autoteam Westrand on the 8th of February to have the alarm repaired/replaced. We were left without a vehicle for almost 2 weeks, apparently, there were no courtesy cars and thus we just had to make do without a car. To compound matters further, my husband had to follow up with Vernon every few days to find out if they were making any progress on the car. His follow-ups were always met with a nonchalant and non-conclusive answer. Surely the responsibility to keep the client informed should have been Vernon's and not for us to continue to follow up with him and receive remarks like "you must have ghosts that set the alarm off". I wouldn't dream of responding in such a manner to a customer that has spent so much with my company or any client, to be honest.

We received our car back on the 19th of February. When Vernon said the car was ready my husband asked him if the problem had been fixed and he advised that he wouldn't be returning if the problem hadn't been fixed, which in my opinion is also rude. Nonetheless, we were glad to be getting the car back. The car was with Autoteam for over 10 days and the car still has the issue. We were greatly inconvenienced for those 10 days without the car and have not received so much as an apology. On Friday the 19th my husband recorded the alarm going off and sent the recording to Vernon. We never received a response from him.

On the morning of the 22nd of February I called Toyota and spoke to Suzette who was the sales advisor as per the invoice that we received back with the vehicle. She advised that the alarm did not go off while they had the car which was the 18th to the 19th and thus they could not work on it.

The car was returned to us exactly in the same way it left us.

We have had our car for about 2 months but have not been able to fully enjoy it, its been gone for almost 4 weeks (probably longer as it was also going for some days in December)

On the 2nd I then handed the matter over to the MFC compaints department. I received a response that very night to advise me the matter was handed to the dealership and we should expect feedback within 7 days. The car was collected from my husband on the 23rd of Feb and we haven't heard a word since collection. We fortunately do have a courtesy car this time around.

Seven days has come and gone and I can never reach Sharon Mace after 2 follow up emails and several phone calls and she has not come back to me.

We just need to find out whats happening with the car thay we haven't had now for 4 weeks. Does no one understand ghay customers get anxious when they don't get feedback.
