MFC acts in BAD FAITH and has affected my credit ratings
I Purchased a vehicle and financed with MFC sometime in 2011 - 2012. My vehicle was insured by Saxum and was subsequently involved in an accident. The insurers took approximately 4-5 months to attend tot he claim and finally when the vehicle was written off and i was about to be settled , the insurers went under liquidation.
I contacted the bank regarding the situation and they told me there was nothing they could do regarding this and i had to continue paying my installment. i paid my installments despite not having a vehicle and waiting for the bank and the insurers to come to some sort of agreement to assist the clients.
I knew my residual payment was due last year and contacted the bank about 7-8 months prior to the payment becoming due as i did not want any problems for payment and wanted to see if i could settle the amount by making an offer, knowing full well that my car was at a s**** yard and that the storage fees is in excess of the s**** value so i would not be getting the vehicle back either.
When the bank tried debiting my account for the balloon payment i reversed it as it was an unauthorized transaction and i was not given the opportunity to make arrangements. i sent an email to the bank and i was also contacted by a consultant that told me about payment arrangements and i never heard from him again.
I only found out this week that the bank had been keeping me as a defaulting payer and have been updating my credit profile to show i have not been paying yet i made arrangements and they have acted in BAD FAITH, without having the courtesy of responding to any of my requests.
I emailed them once again this morning but i am sure i wont any joy from them either. all i want is for them to rectify the situation and update my credit profile correctly and remove the payment history as i have not been in default and it has in fact been them that has not reverted to me.
I am sure the bank is fully aware of the situation that Saxum has put many south Africans in and yet they are so carelessly and recklessly with clients profiles.
