I was behind on my car installment. They sent people to come and repossess my car without a court order and they called it a voluntary surrender. How am I voluntarily surrendering my vehicle if I did not approach them. I called the same day to I want to settle my arrears of R9960. I spoke to a guy by the name of Genius Mahlango from the collections department l. He said if I pay R10 500 I will get my car back. The two guys they sent took my vehicle. I called Genius Maglangu a few hours later to say I now have the money. He told me to wait and call the next day. I called a day later and he said my acc6has been handed over to Thembi Ndlovu. I called Thembi to tell her I am ready to pay. She said I must pay R14955. I asked to explain how did we get to that amount. She was so rude she was shouting at me, and all I wanted was an explanation. I told her I wi report her behavior she sad she will gladly give me her managers email address. I asked to be assisted by someone else. I then spoke to Monica Malatji who gave me a different amount of Over R15000 saying some of the money is for storage cost some goes to assessing the vehicle. This was not discussed with me by the 2 gentlemen to came to take my car. I paid the arreas of R9900 because they said a a few days they will remove my name as the owner, but the contract says I have about 20days to settle. They took the car without a court order and said it's a voluntary surrender, but I did not approach them. That Ginus Mahlangu was also rude until he spoke to my husband. I told them I am settling the arrears but seeking legal advice on the R4900. The amounts kept on chaging everytime I called them.They said to me a repossession and a voluntary surrender are one and the same thing. Is that true?
