I lost my respect for MFC

Extremely Poor Service and Financial Loss Due to MFC's Delays and Inaction I’m writing this review out of frustration after months of trying—unsuccessfully—to resolve a serious issue with MFC. Despite numerous emails, phone calls, and efforts to cooperate in good faith, I’ve been met with silence, delays, and a complete lack of accountability. After losing my business in 2024, I really battled to keep on servicing my car instalments. In March 2025 i approached MFC to assist with selling my vehicle (Mahindra Scorpio S11). Following their advice, I obtained a solid offer from a car dealership for R310,000—enough to nearly settle my account, leaving only R14,000 outstanding (including a R9000 early settlement fine). I submitted the quote on 21 March 2025, along with a request to waive the R9,000 early settlement penalty. That email was ignored. Repeated calls got me nowhere—no one could give answers or direct me to the right person. Eventually, I was told to "just wait" for feedback that never came. During this time, my account was handed to debt collectors despite the transaction being in progress. I re-sent the required documents, s****ping the penalty waiver request, only for MFC to continue delaying. The offer from the dealership then expired. 8 Days after it expired (8 April) I finally got the letter for the dealership – but guess what – another more or less R4000 interest was added to the settlement amount. Here is the catch – the dealership offer expired…. The new offer from the dealer was R20 000 lower, due to delays. I negotiated a better price, still R10 000 less— and then the whole process started all over again at MFC. I then desperately tried to finalize the deal, but again MFC went silent. Emails were ignored, deadlines were missed, and interest kept piling on. The dealership offer expired again! But they were kind enough to keep it the same and wait it out. The 24th April I finally got the letter from the bank with another R2000 added. From R14 000 I now owe the bank R30 000 because of MFC’s inaction and poor communication. Adding insult to injury, after sending a complaint I was promised a call within 48 hours. No one contacted me. Even after a follow up complaint still no communication…. I’ve always respected MFC and have financed several vehicles through them in the past, but this experience has left me financially disadvantaged and emotionally drained during one of the hardest periods of my life. I’ve done everything right—prompt communication, honesty, integrity—and yet I’ve been punished for MFC’s disorganization. This complaint is not just a cry for help—it’s a call for accountability. I expect MFC to take this seriously, contact me immediately, and work with me to resolve this fairly. I am not willing to carry the financial burden caused by your negligence.
