Don’t take extended policy via MFC

I got a call from MFC selling a scratch and dent policy with a policy no. MIA027564. I subsequently got a letter welcoming me, a year later when I’m trying to make a claim, I’m told that I don’t have a policy with them. Later I’m told that maybe I bought it from the dealership, which I’m certain that I didn’t. If I ask about the confirmation letter I got from MFC, they still don’t seem to own up claiming that they don’t know who or how I got that specific letter.
