Disappointed Nedbank client
My car was 2 months in arrears with MFC and was contacted by a consultant by the name of Felicia on Thursday the 19th September demanding me to pay an amount of R21915.34 immediately. I tried to negotiate for the 26th but she was shouting as though I was not a human. She further advised me that they have sent sheriffs several times at home to see me but somebody answered the door on different occasions stating that I do not live at home , which is a lie. Nobody have visited my home. When asked exactly who made such allegations, she couldn’t respond. Felicia further told me that I need to surrender my car immediately and there is no grace period , which I refused explaining that I had no intentions to surrender it , I’m willing to pay for my car on the 26th September but she was not interested. She instructed me that her statement was final and that I need to surrender my vehicle. Since I’m a first time buyer I asked her what will happen in that case because I’m willing to pay but I’m confused because there was no notice served prior to the call and there was no calls ignored regarding the areas. Felicia explained a process to surrender; If I do not hand the vehicle immediately , I will have sheriffs that will come forcefully to take the vehicle , pay legal cost which is estimated at R60 000 + will not get my vehicle back since I will have a judgment. VS their option; I surrender my vehicle pay the arrears( R22000)and then collect my vehicle. I was not at ease with the term Surrender but when explained it to me , I wanted to comply and I trusted them not knowing that they would not mislead me. Felicia explained that one of their agent was going to contact me. A guy buy the name of Thameshan Moonsamy contacted me the following day (20th) asking if I had made the payment. I again explained that I could only pay the following week(26th) and he advised me that he had no choice I just had to bring the car until I pay the arrears. When I asked him where do I have to take it , he advised in Durban. I was shocked and told him about my condition and situation but he also had no interests in what I had to say. And advised me that Felicia will again contact me. Felicia contacted me again with the same instructions. Further more since I was concerned about her options I asked her how will I then get my vehicle back she simply said , I had to fetch it myself. And because of her lengthy process I tried to reason with her but she made it clear that she was not budging and she cut the call on me. I was shocked to see an unknown car outside only to find that is was their external agents . My brother answered the door and they explained that they were sent to collect the car. By the time I was outside the guy had already inspected the exterior and noted it, explained to me that I had 21 days to pay the arrears and once I had settled the arrears I could come and collect my car. Because I was not at ease with their process and he did not explain anything I asked him what if I get the payment while they are on their way because I was given less than 24hours notice, he explained that I still had to come to Durban. He then pulled out a devise and asked me to sign. Since I was very emotional and didn’t know the process I signed. No documents were given to me . Thameshan advised me that he would have to stamp the documents once he gets to his office in Durban before giving them to me but then I refused and he advised me that he was going to email them. On the 25th I received a text message stating that my car was going for auction and was valued at R130,000.00. Which was a shock. On the the (26th ) I had a lady by the name of france de Villiers contact me with vehicle release instructions and demanding extra costs amounting to R34469. When asked what the costs were for , she only explained that the R3000.00 was for change of ownership and was not sure what the other costs were for. The car ownership has been changed without my consent yet I'm being charged... An amount of R34469.52 has been paid in full to Nedbank but they are still refusing to release my vehicle. I feel as though Nedbank is *********** their clients and they dont treat clients with respect and dignity furthermore they take advantage of people who have little knowledge and are very good at misleading and manipulating vulnerable people.i have paid and still paying for a vehicle that they hijacked me.
