***** dealerships financed by Nedbank
I purchased a VW Amarok on the 1st of June 2023.I financed it through Nedbank MFC. Just before I purchased it I had made an inquiry into it and discovered its speedometer wasn't 100% accurate. Was told it had an additional 50 000km on the clock when I checked the Vin number. Thinking it's still not that much as it was on 107 000km I went ahead and purchased it. The dealership had also reassured me if anything was wrong they'd either fix, replace vehicle with another vehicle of the same cost or give my money back. I traded in my old Honda CR-V with over 300 000km on the clock and gave a R40 000 deposit.
Once I made purchase I went to VW and had a diagnostic done. It showed a fault had occurred on 249 000km. I phone the dealership and told them I wasn't wanting a vehicle with so much mileage and wanted my money back. They told me it's driving well and I must keep it.
I had taken an extended warranty with the vehicle and asked the dealership when was it's next service needed as I hadn't recieved a service book with it. Was told to service it 15 000km after I had taken delivery of vehicle. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle a change oil came up on dash board. I contacted the dealership and asked them what to do as I was afraid my warranty would be null and void as no service had actually been done on it. They told me I best service the vehicle. I did a service which cost me over R4000 and was told my turbo was leaking oil and shocks and tie rod ends needed replacing as well. I took the vehicle back to dealership so they could fix my turbo. They gave my honda to use as a courtesy vehicle. It had miraculously 94 000km on the clock. Clearly it had been tampered with.
I contacted Nedbank MFC and given a email address to send my complaint. I did so. Once I had recieved my vehicle back I had shocks done, bushes on the steering rack needed replacement as they were totally worn thru and 2 new tyres put on. I'm not sure how the vehicle past a roadworthy with all the above mentioned things needing replacing.
I've phoned Nedbank on numerous occasions and asked to speak to the individual handling my complaint and was never able to as they were always busy. They finally rep**** to my email and stated they contacted the dealership and dealership told them I was aware of the cluster been tampered with. Which is I would think admission of guilt.
My gasket for my exhaust manifold has gone and I've needed to replace. I've spent over R24 000 on the vehicle. My right fender fell off and I discovered it had been fasted with wood *****s. I'm sitting without transport as it's in for repairs again. My funds have run out and I'm still expected to pay for a vehicle I don't want and made very clear from the moment I discovered its high mileage I didn't want anymore. As it was a ****.
Nedbank are accomplices to me been ****med. I was under the impression there's a consumers protection act. Soon I'll more than likely be without transport as Nedbank will repossesse the vehicle as I'm unable to pay for a vehicle sitting in a workshop.
Was hoping my first vehicle I've ever financed would have been a happier experience.
