Car repossession

On Friday 6 May 2016, A representative from Piet van Vurren/ MFC came to my place of work to repossess my car. Granted my account was in arrears, however the person that came through to repossess my car was completely rude, unprofessional & prejudice towards me.

1. He claimed to have tried to make contact with me before coming to my office. This was not the case as he did not even have my cellphone number??? He claimed to have left messages at the switchboard for me, I never received a single message.

2. I was embarr***ed at my place of work, when I requested that he give me till 13:00 to make arrangements for the money, in a condescending he way he said "how would you get this money, you clearly cannot afford the car, please release it"

3. He called the MFC office (Petrus) and then said to me Petrus cannot make the final decision here he has decided & he will be taking the car with him today!!!

4. After a lot of tears & pleading he gave me a few minutes to make a few calls to arrange the money.

5. Within 30 minutes the "outstanding amount that was claimed" was paid into the MFC account.

6. Steve even tried to tell my sister how is a bank branch manager how to make the payment....

7. I gave him the proof of payment & he left saying to me that if I do not honour my payment at the end of this month he will be back to take the car away.

8. I was going to let all of this go...but then this morning i receive an SMS stating that R3886.85 was paid in advance on the outstanding amount & if I do not respond with 7 days it will be used to reduce the term in my finance agreement.

9. I was har***ed & embarr***ed @ my work place by an aggressive individual, he did not even have any identification say he was an MFC representative, I took it for granted that he was one & in my state of shock I never questioned anything that he said, I did not even question the outstanding amount or request a statement.

10. I want the amount paid in advance credited bank to my FNB account.

11. I would also like clarity on the process involved when a vehicle is being repossessed, I am sure that what i went through is not as per procedure.

12. MFC has all my contact details including email address, so there was definitely a way in which they could have contacted me before pitching up at my place of work to repossess my car!!
