Mondo: Refusal to provide a copy of the contract

I took out a contract for a mobile Wifi device with Mondo. The contract was concluded telephonically after I received an unsolicited call from a Mondo salesperson. The salesperson indicated that I would receive an email containing the conditions of the contract, or that I could request a copy of the recorded call. Upon calling Mondo a month later to request a recording of the call, they indicated that I would need to go in to a Telkom branch and that a recording of the call will be sent to the branch where I can listen to the recording. I insisted that the contract was concluded with Mondo and that I am entitled to receive a copy of the recording (which constitutes a binding contract) from them. I was advised that it is their policy that they cannot send me a copy of the recorded call and that I have to go into a Telkom branch. Although Telkom is the service provider, I did not conclude a contract with Telkom.

Hi Nida J,

Thank you for taking the time to write to us about your query. We sincerely apologize for the level of service you have received.

The reason you were advised that you are required to go to a Telkom store to listen to the call recording, is due to the format of the call recording that can only be open in store. Regarding your request for your contract, you may request an invoice that will have the contract agreement information from Telkom as the service provider. As much as you took the contract with Mondo, Telkom is the direct service provider and Mondo is the affiliated trade partner with limited sensitive information related to your account. We sincerely apologize for the misunderstanding. You may contact Telkom directly regarding the call recording as well as the invoice with the contract agreement.

Regards,
The Mondo Team
