MONDO IS A BIG ****

I took out a contract with with MTN through Mondo on the 14th of August 2023. The contract was a 24-months, which ought to have come to its end at the end of July 2025.

I called MTN at the end of June to cancel for the end of July, they advised that the contract is a 36-months, which I disputed. They then logged a call with Mondo, I was advised they would call me back, they never did.

I called MTN again, they stated that they had already logged a call with Mondo, when I adbised them that I did not get a call, only then did they give me their numbers.

I called Mondo, they said they will investigate, I must give them 5 working days, they will revert. Two weeks went by, nothing. I called them again, they said they have investigated and the investigation was marked valid.

The said they will cancel the contract with MTN, they never did, for a whole month I called speaking to various people who kept telling me refund had been processed. On the fifth week of waiting for the refund, I was advised that there was a never a cancellation that was done with MTN.

The debit order went off my account at the end of August, they said they would refund me. Nothing. I demanded to speak to the manager, none was apparenrly available. I held on for an hour, waiting for the manager.

I finally spoke to an Aston Pillay who said the refund had been processed, it would reflect the next day. This is the same day as when one consultant had said the cancellation had never been initiated.

Astom ajd assured me that he had contacted MTN and they had advised him of the cancealltion penalty, which they had paid over in full. I called MTN to attempt to cancel again, I was advised that the monies paid by Monday were R306 short.

I went back to Aston, who simply said he does not know why they say that and did not even care to follow up with MTN.

I have been debited for a month which I should not have been, and have to pay the shortfall. Mondo is a big ****, you are better off dealing with the service provider directly.
