My mother, who hardly uses data and mostly phones, received an unsolicited call from *** on 21 December 2015. She was told that her contract with Vodacom (uChoose Flexi 150) would expire in March and offered an upgrade which included 2 GB of data which would cost less (R109 instead of R138). She was also told that it was a once of offer, and it could not be repeated closer to the date of expiry of the first contract, and she understood that she would still have the free minutes available on her phone. Sadly, she was bamboozled into accepting.

After some enquiries, it seems that instead of an upgrade, they sold her an ADDITONAL 2GB DATA CONTRACT (mostly useless to her), WITHOUT free minutes (which she does use).

The package was delivered on 24 December. Mondo is now closed for the festive season, so no way to contact them for details or to cancel.

It has up to now cost me four hours of phone calls to Vodacom to try and cancel the contract.

I have the impression that this company is preying on non-technically minded users, selling them misrepresented, unwanted contracts. I do not know why Vodacom associates itself with this company.
