Manipulation at its best!

Hi. I am furious because I have been sold a contract under false pretenses. I received a call from an agent from Rewards Corp (Mondo) offering me a contract saying I am paying too much on my existing contract. I asked the agent if wether my old contract will be cancelled without any cancellation fee. The agent said there will be no cancellation fee. An explanation was given to me that the new data contract will be activated after 24hrs upon delivery.

The router and simcard was delivered and the sim card was never activated. I went to Hemmingways mall in East London and I was told the sim card was not rica compliant so the router worked after my visit.

However, I was told I have 2 contracts active and I will have to pay a cancellation fee if I want to cancel my previous contract. I explained to them what the agent said and they said I should call their customer care.

Customer Care gave me a number to call ***) which I called while I was at MTN Hammingways. I was told an investigation will be conducted and today they are telling me that my dispute is invalid. I am livid because I did ask if wether there will be any cancellation fee and I was told I can just use the number as prepaid upon activation of the new contract.
