Incorrect data provisioning and appalling customer service
Seeing a WiFi special on the MTN website, I went to the branch where I upgrade my phone contract only to be told they can't sign me up for online deals. So I tried to sign up on the website, which didn't work, and was phoned by a Mondo RewardsCo salesman who signed me up speedily.
There was an error on the contract which I queried immediately, however, the additional special offer bundles were not loaded. MTN managed to get Mondo to add some of them but after eighteen months of following up, MTN was told that I need to contact Mondo myself because of POPI!
So I spent my monthly allocation of airtime speaking to a condescending man who had the cheek to ask why it took me so long to contact Mondo - despite the fact that I had contacted them as soon as I saw the contract, even before the SIM was delivered, but did not have endless airtime to keep phoning and paying for their mistake. After putting me hold, he said the relevent department would contact me, but of course they haven't, and now the final straw: I just got an SMS saying my cancellation request is pending and an update will be provided within 2 to 9 working days. Is this in response to my follow up this morning or my call five days ago? This is after paying full price for the past eighteen months and not receiving the advertised data allocation, plus a recent price increase. All I requested was the correct data provisioning so I don't sit out here on the farm with no connectivity after two home invasions in our road in the past week.
To add insult to injury, I recently received an unsolicited phonecall from Mondo trying to sell me something else, because I apparently requested a call back, but still no resolution of my complaint! I specifically said no to your chatbot's offer to stay up to date on the hottest deals from Mondo...
Firstly, why do you need to talk to me to give me the correct allocation!? And if you do need to talk to me, why can't you phone me? Why must I use all my airtime waiting for you to answer, getting cut off, and then holding again? I contacted you eighteen months ago and am still waiting, MTN has done their best since then and even sent me some airtime to call you since you don't have a toll free number for customers and your chatbots are ineffective.
Secondly, I advise any prospective customers to pay the potentially higher amount each month to avoid having to deal with such incompetence, and rather stick to the friendly MTN branch.

Best regards,
It has been two and a half weeks since your Hello Peter department called and said they would call back.
What is the delay adding my YouTube data?
Please urgently add the 20G which appears on the contract and invoices, and then at your leisure you can deliberate about the 30G that appeared on the adverti*****t on the MTN website. I have sent you screenshots of this so I'm not sure why I received a message saying my query is invalid or that there is even a need to deliberate.
Another home invasion in our road last week - do not allow me to run out of data again!
I am trying to work and study from home and don't want this to become impossible again this month by YouTube usage depleting my Anytime minutes.
