Beware of MONDO another middle man.

First of all I am not interested in even receiving a response from Mondo, this post will act as a warning for future prospective clients.

So I received a call from the middle man Mondo giving me an offer to sign up for a data and router/modem contract for 24 months. The offer was the following R299.00 for 10GBday and 10GB night, this apparently double the data you would get for that price.

Sounded good at the time, I have agreed to the contract. So in the interim I had a cellphone due for an upgrade. After going to our local Vodacom Chatz store I noticed they had a promotion that you paid at the time R329.00 for 30GB day and 30GB night. Obviously I feel like I was ******. See packages described below:

Mondo - R299.00 10GB/10GB (150Mbs modem) Vodacom - R249.00 10GB/10GB (300Mbs modem) Vodacom promotion - R329.00 30GB/30GB (150Mbs modem)

In short im paying an additional R50.00 for the same data but with a worse router.

I then proceeded to give Mondo a call and they launched an investigation to listen to the call between myself and the sales person. As I thought at the time that I had a 20GB/20GB contract with the middle man. It turned out I only have the 10GB/10GB package as discussed with the sales person.

After this I then again talked to Mondo team asking for my contract to be canceled and the person said that there will be no other fees and that a courier guy would phone me and arrange a pickup for the device. She went further to say I must just put everything in the box it came with and there would be no additional costs.

A week later no one phoned me with regards to a pickup. I then went to the local Vodacom shop and asked them to check if this contract was actually canceled, turns out nothing was done cancellation wise. Again I talked to the Mondo guys and now they cant find that call I had with the person regarding the cancellation and pickup. It would seem they only keep those recordings beneficial to themselves.

Now if I have to cancel it there would be a penalty of R8000.00 and I get to keep the device that is only worth R500.00

I can do nothing now but accept the bad choice I made taking a contract with these guys and will be reminded of this fact for the next 23 months.

So to the people reading this beware of this middle man MONDO they are only here as another business milking our economy. Best bet is to go to a Vodacom store and get the proper deals there.

I will send this to every form of social media I can, to act as awareness of another middle man called MONDO, also be aware that contracts you take over the phone is something the Vodacom shop cant even help with, they say they are apparently very limited on things they can do with an over the phone contract.

To the mondo sharks, please remove my number from your cold calling lists as I feel sorry for what I might say to the next agent trying to sell me something over the phone!
