Unmarked race cut off point- Ghandi Square

I entered my first momentum 94.7 cycle challenge yesterday. on the site we had access to all the official cut off points along the route.<br> <br> while doing the race, my race came to an abrupt stop at Ghandi square, which was not an official cut off point according to race organisers. there was atleast 200+ cyclists whose race ended at this point. Our protests fell on deaf ears and the road was now blocked by JMPD who were armed. in fear of our lives we could not cycle further.<br> <br> after 30 minutes the race organiser eventually admitted that he/she was wrong but by then it was too late. Buses and sweep vehicles came to pick us up and we were told we will still get medals at the finish line...<br> <br> My problem with this solution is that it does not compensate me as a customer, i was wrongfully denied an opportunity to participate in an event which i paid for. i would actually like my money back as i did not experience what i paid for and why should i accept things as they are.<br> <br> i understand the event is big but why should i as a first time entrant pay for road closures that will only be enjoyed by the elite cyclists who get to start at 6am?
