Service standards

My wife passed away on 14/01/2021 and despite submitting all requested documents, the claim still has not been paid. I followed up on at least four occasions on their internal complaints procedure, to absolutely no avail. This process seems to be a joke as the can just gets kicked down the road. I have phoned a number of times and everybody offer apologies but nobody explain reasons for the delay despite having received e-mails to the effect that payment would be processed within 3 - 5 working days. It seems as if Momentum cannot stick to their own timelines either as their acknowledgement of any electronic correspondence states that if you do not receive a response within 48 hours, you can call them for assistance. This is lip service and merely passing the buck. As a financial advisor myself, I would hate to put my clients through this kind of experience.

My sincere condolences with the passing of your wife.

Thank you for bringing this unfortunate situation to our attention. We always aim to deliver the best service and unfortunately you did not have a positive service experience. Please allow us an opportunity to investigate this matter and we will be in contact with you soon.

Kind regards

It is quite amazing how reporting on hellopeter illicits a quick response after numerous phone calls and e-mails failed to do so. I have even had a phone call after the above response which uses some form of acronym as a signature, with a promise that the matter would be resolved. It sounds promising, but once again I am not holding my breath. At least I did get some reaction.

The recent telephone call from our Claims Team Leader to yourself refer. We are truly sorry for the frustration caused by our delay in communicating the last remaining requirement.

We have now received the requirement and I may confirm that the claim has now been finalised and payment made.

Kind regards
