Profits before compassion

I previously disclosed to Momentum that I underwent a stressful break-up in 2010 and sought professional help in coping with the stress. I was placed on medication, disclosed this to Momentum and they promptly placed a 1 year exclusion on my policy. I appealed this and it was reduced to 6 months.

In 2014 I went through a trying period as my spouse and I had bought a property, moved home and my father's health had deteriorated. Additionally my mother-in-law creates significant tension in my marriage. I do intend to resolve this and go off the medication and it has never affected my ability to work. I disclosed this all to Momentum and once again their underwriters placed an exclusion on my policy, albeit now for 3 years!

I asked that they revisit this however the request review was declined. They reaffirmed that the exclusion be imposed following the relapse in 2014, and would only consider removing it after a period of 36 months has elapsed with no treatment or symptoms.

I have been continuously employed since 2002 and have always been open and honest in my dealings with Momentum. Is this how you Treat a Customer Fairly who has been with you for over 10 years?
