Momentum: My opinion for clients to be careful

This is not a review of Service but my opinion as a soon to be former Momentum client.

Having read the Nathan Ganas Momentum story and the shocking application of policy, I am truly convinced Momentum is not a reputable insurer. It is also noted from my own experience with Momentum, I was subjected to the full blood work test prior to insurance and too hear Momentum expects clients to manage their risk is appalling. To hear Momentum clawed back a funeral benefit from a Widower is disgusting as they haven't mentioned offsetting the premiums which have enriched them?

A word of advice to all Momentum clients, this is a lesson to be learnt about this insurer. Disclaimer: I have affiliation or relation to the insured in any manner, this is my expressive opinion in the publicly known case.

Insurers have a duty to protect existing clients who acted in good faith during the application process. Even though we sympathise with the loss that a family suffers when a loved one dies, had we paid the claim that is currently highlighted in the media, we would indirectly encourage the practice of non-disclosure.  This, in turn, would have a negative financial impact on existing and future clients.

So Momentum, underwrites at claim stage to convince client their products are superior in price to the rest? You call that policy good faith? or written to on the balance of probability to benefit the insurer? A judge would laugh you out off court. Disclosure is only half the letter of the law, if you believe without a doubt the victim was chronically diagnosed by medically certified practitioner then you can only repudiate a claim based on the severity of diagnosis. But if you think clients will read this with your views in favour then you're sorely mistaken. A Boycott of Momentum and its dodge tactics will follow.
