Momentum Insure Safedays App - major problems on my profile
I've experienced a number of problems with the Safedays App used by Momentum Insure. This is important as they use the App to measure your safety on the road, which in essence affects your insurance premiums. This, in all fairness, is a great idea, but only if the App works correctly. In the 2 weeks I've been dealing with them (via the escalation specialist Suresh Moodley) I have not received one single answer to any of the specific questions I've raised, except a very half baked response regarding the fami****ity score.
If you use this App, go check if you are experiencing the same issues. Here's a few: 1). I've received numerous low scores (10%) for braking, yet when you click on the map that flags these events it lists the severity as low. If the severity is low, I should be receiving a high score, right? 2) I've had the same happen for cornering (severity low, yet the score is bad) and usually coupled with good braking scores. Surely you'd expect braking and cornering scores to be roughly similar as they go hand in hand. The Safedays App disagrees. 3) We recently drove down to the coast. On my wife's phone, the Safedays Ap scored her trip as 80%+, mine was 47%. Same trip, same car, same route yet completely different scores. Clearly there is something seriously wrong here. 4) The Safedays App allocated trips I allegedly made one night, yet I was in the complex we stayed, braaing with my brother-in-law. 5) On one trip my wife left her phone in the safe, and I took mine along to the beach. For this day, the Safedays App awarded her the exact same trip as I had undertaken, yet her phone didn't move.
There are quite a few more similar examples, but these are the big ones I've experienced. Momentum Insurance's response was that most users are happy with the App and have in fact achieved better scores on average since they've changed service providers. So what exactly are they telling me with this statement?
To date I have not had any answers from them regarding the above issues, except to say that since they only have one profile on the back-end for both my wife and myself, this is what is causing all the issues. The fact that we have separate and unique user id's and passwords seems to have somehow escaped their attention.
I am super unhappy with the way they are handling my concerns. They seem to take the approach that if everybody else is happy, I should stop complaining.
The question I am asking myself is this - if they can't even manage their Safedays App properly, what will happen should I ever put in a claim?
