Momentum _ eJoburg Retirement Fund divorce withdrawal

Good day,

My ex spouse submitted a withdrawal application from my pension fund from a divorce order on the 2nd of May 2024. To date the matter has not been resolved or any way forward indicating a completion time frame.

The pension fund administrator (Lethabo Matlala) dealing with the matter has over the last 6 months been very unprofessional, not responding to emails timeously and blatantly ignoring direct questions directed to them. I am not sure whether there is a specific reason as to why we have received such unprofessional treatment from them, are we not deserving of a process that is efficient.

The divorce order clearly states that the payment is to be made to the non member spouse.

I made a similar application to Liberty using the same divorce order and a payment has since been made, to myself directly. Please also bear in mind that my application to Liberty was done more than a month after my ex husbands application to Momentum.

The reason why this is affecting me personally is because I would like to make a withdrawal from my Two pots, I cannot do this as the divorce order is pending.

Momentum has really frustrated us in this process as the communication is bad and no turn around times are given.

I do hope to see this matter can be finalized soon.
