Momentum disappoints
After we had a stillborn I phoned momentum and they said I'm covered for it. They send me the claim forms which I submitted and they then came back and said my claim is unsuccessful because a stillborn benefit is only for a female. How do you go from being covered to no your not? Is my wife the only one who lost a child? As the man I was responsible for all the costs and that is why I have the insurance. Old mutual and sanlam paid out and requested affidavits from my wife to confirm I'm the father. Why can't momentum also not do that? I've got life and short term cover with momentum and that will change unless this is resolved.

Thank you for your reply. Baby was 37 weeks already. So you are disqualifying me on gender only? Good to know that companies like Old Mutual and Sanlam acknowledges the father also as a parent who suffered the same loss as his wife.
