Increase in premiums without notice

Momentum recently increased my premiums without even consulting me. I had to see the double debit go off on my account and when i enquired, their response was appalling. How do you increase a person's premiums without notifying them first. The took forever to even get back to me with proper explanaitions. safe to say i have been looking at other insurance options.
