FNB Reserve Allocation

The just of it, I received an email from Momentum regarding my sister being allocated a small amount for the above reserve.

The fund will only deposit the money into an account that's hers alone (no joint account, no homeloan account, no beneficiary). My sister has emigrated to Australia and only has a joint account with her husband there.

The person assigned to deal with my sisters matter has basically advised my sister that when she visits South Africa, she must open an account to put the money in (just over R500). Mmm...spend R30 000 to come get R500 - makes sense!

We have given up trying to get the money, but I feel that if a fund makes it so difficult to claim, what is happening to all these amounts where people can't claim, I do hope it is going to a deserved charity who needs it.

Kinda get with 2017, so many people are emigrating and have their families handing their affairs, married people have joint accounts and those who have emigrated usually have assets (like a homeloan) to pay into but that's not allowed either.
