Deleting beneficiary without notice

My husband passed away in March 2015 and since then I have been in contact with Momentum. To no avail.
I have also been told from Momentum that because the policy was taken over from another company all beneficiaries are automatically cancelled. Why is it that only once a person tries to sort out after a death is one told. I now have had to approach the Supreme court and I am still waiting after 6 weeks for a Letter of Authority. This is now an extra expense that I actually cannot afford.
Please try explain to me why is it that no-one from such a huge company phones or even emails clients. I always thought that would be the first thing to do if a policy is taken over, just to make sure that every thing is in place. WHERE ARE ALL YOUR BROKERS...Have a little decency left and help me sort this out once and for all and stop sending emails to tell my DEAD husband that his policy is in arrears and when I phone am told please do not pay any thing as this will cause problems...
