Atrocious Service
Advised them of my mothers death the following day. I’ve now learnt this was the wrong thing to do as they stopped paying with immediate effect. So all her debit orders bounced and I have to pay! They demand a letter of executorship which is only available from the Master of the Supreme Court when settling her estate. Warning to others. Wait until you have the required documents before notifying Momentum of a death. So they keep on paying until everything can be settled and this could be 2 months later.
They do not respond to requests for feedback - I just get total silence.
Atrocious service and have made my life difficult at a time when dealing with the loss of my mother doesn’t need additional hassles and difficulties thrown my way. Extremely unimpressed.

Despite this they have continued to ignore my emails and not respond to direct questions. It renders the “sympathy” expressed in their HelloPeter private response totally insincere and useless.
They continue to ask for documents that I have already sent them - two weeks ago. Firstly why was receipt of these documents never acknowledged and if it’s because they don’t have them then who does? These documents contained copies of the back and front of my ID card, my banking details including transactions (a statement was demanded) and proof of address (a Joburg Municipality PDF that could easily be doctored and used *****ulently) so this is not a trivial question. Who has the documents? Where are they? Are they in breach of the POPI Act? As they don’t seem to have them did someone in IT intercept the email on their Exchange Server before it could get to the admin department to whom it was sent? If this happened what happened to all these private and confidential attachments? I could go on as this situation is extremely concerning. My personal information could be anywhere and with anyone or even many individuals at Momentum. In this case I am exposed to *****ulent activity in terms of my ID, bank, proof of address etc.
If this organisation continues to ignore these questions I will lay a charge with SAPS for Momentum breach of the POPI Act. Their unwillingness or inability to answer a few very simple questions about my personal information certainly implies that they have no idea who has my documents, who has access to them, where they are within the Momentum email systems environment and who within IT has access to the documents. This most certainly implies they are in breach of the POPI Act.
So despite my HelloPeter complaint all they have done is make it worse by sending an insincere message of condolence and then repeating an email they sent me 2 weeks ago to which I responded attaching all the documents they were demanding.
Not only atrocious service but putting a “customer” at risk by not protecting the highly confidential personal information of the “customer.
